SO THAT INCLUDES PRINCESSES, ESCORTS, DUCHESSES AND DUCHESS ESCORTS, UH, FROM AROUND THE COMMUNITY AND AROUND THE NATION ALL THE WAY, EVEN FROM NEW YORK, SO EVERY BEAUMONT HIGH SCHOOL IS REPRESENTED. AND MANY SURROUNDING HIGH SCHOOLS ARE REPRESENTED AS WELL. UM YOU KNOW, WE ASK OUR PARTICIPANTS. IT'S NOT JUST THE CULMINATION OF THE CORONATION AND THE BALL AT THE END OF THE FESTIVAL, WHICH IS APRIL 13TH, WE ASK OUR PARTICIPANTS TO WRITE RESUMES, WRITE AN ESSAY PARTICIPATE IN A VERY COMPREHENSIVE INTERVIEW PROCESS TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE SELECTED FOR EITHER NINE SCHOLARSHIPS OR THE ROYAL COURT. BY THE TIME THEY REACHED THE AGE OF 18. AND 31 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS APPROACHED TO ASSIST IN LAUNCHING THE FIRST SEXUAL ASSAULT NURSE EXAMINER PROGRAM AT SAINT ELIZABETH LITTLE DID I KNOW THAT THREE DECADES LATER, I'D STILL BE AN ACTIVE SAYING IN 1996 WHEN I LEFT SAINT ELIZABETH HOSPITAL. UM, A REALIZATION STRUCK ME. THERE HAD TO BE A MORE EFFECTIVE APPROACH TO CARING FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIMS. IT BECAME EVIDENT THAT MANY SURVIVORS WOULD EITHER DEPART BEFORE RECEIVING CARE OR REFRAIN FROM SEEKING CARE ALTOGETHER. TOGETHER WITH MY SISTER AND A CLOSE FRIEND. THREE NURSES WE FORMED, UH, CHILD ABUSE AND FORENSIC SERVICES, A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION AND WE EMBARKED ON A JOURNEY THAT MANY DEEMED IMPOSSIBLE. OUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE THEN AND IT REMAINS TODAY WAS TO SECURE A CONFIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS.

ADDITIONALLY OUR SECONDARY AIM HAS BEEN TO EXTEND SERVICES TO OTHER FACILITIES, ENSURING THAT EVERY PATIENT REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY SEEK ASSISTANCE, RECEIVES CONSISTENT AND HIGH QUALITY CARE. IT. I MEAN CHILD ABUSE AND FORENSIC SERVICES HAS CONDUCTED OVER 4700 FORENSIC MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS AND TESTIFIED AS AN EXPERT WITNESS IN COUNTLESS CASES, MULTIPLE COUNTIES AND MULTIPLE STATES AND I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE THAT CAME TO SUPPORT US TODAY. THAT'S TRAVELING 75 MINUTES ONE WAY, SO THAT MEANS THAT THEY'RE SPENDING A GOOD PART, UH, HOUR HOUR, ALMOST TWO HOURS, COMMUTING BACK AND FORTH TO JOBS. THEY BROUGHT LEGISLATION THAT PROHIBITED US FROM UTILIZING RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS ON EMPLOYEES OR EVEN DEPARTMENT HEADS. IT'S ONLY THOSE THAT WE EITHER, UH HER OR WE HAVE TO APPROVE ON THE HIRING IF I'M CORRECT, UH, MADAM, UH, ATTORNEY IS THAT CORRECT THE OF THE LEGISLATION YES, SIR. IT'S LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE 1 51.021.
